Meet Chef / Owner

Juan Pu

Chef smiling in a kitchen next to a stove with two pots on it.

Chef Juan's culinary journey began in Guatemala (where he was born), before he immigrated to the United States in 2004. In Florida, he refined his craft in diverse restaurants, including Italian, French, American, and Middle Eastern, acquiring extensive experience with international cuisines.

In 2018, he ventured to northern New Hampshire, where he launched North Country Daddy's Grill food truck in April 2022. This food truck in Littleton quickly became a local favorite.

His aspirations to someday open a restaurant caught the eye of the Bethlehem Country Club through a local newspaper article on the success of the food truck. This led to an invitation to take over the space of the former Putter's Pub.

When he opened El Mirador in May 2022, it marked the realization of Chef Juan Pu's long-held dream of owning a restaurant. El Mirador now serves as a platform for him to share his rich culinary heritage and passion for cooking with others.

I’m exited about bringing authentic Latin American cuisine to the North Country. I hope you can come visit our small family-run restaurant and enjoy this unique culinary experience.
